But I know that lingering on the unfortunate events of last week will do me no good. So after having a very interesting visit with Dr. Malizia at Ivy Urgent Care on Saturday, where he proceeded to do a mini surgery (it was pretty gross and entertaining I must say), I felt much better. I also felt much better after speaking with my Coach about the weight gain and how I am finding this second cut harder than the first. During my first cut, I was CrossFitting 5-6 days a week. This time around I am doing 5 days of strength training, 1 wod, and 4-5 days of steady state cardio for 20-30 minutes. I feel as though the scale has been moving very slowly and sometimes not the right way. She reassured me that I am on the right path and to continue doing what I am.
That takes us right up to this week and I feel like I am turning a corner. I think my body is finally starting to get used to the new training and I’ve been on point with nutrition. My body feels different. I can feel my metabolism increasing and I’ve been quite chilly. I am definitely back in fat burning mode! I am resolved to continue to hold the vision and trust the process, just like the pic above states. I am hoping to get my bikini in the mail sometime next week. This way I can start taking progress pics. Wow, those show bikinis can be expensive. So I’ve decided to DIY and bling it out with the help of my mom. I can’t wait to get started and I’ll be sure to post all about it.
(The pic below is of the gnarly aftermath from my ear. Being a nurse, I love gory surgery pics. Sorry if it grosses you out lol. Dr. Malizia was such a good sport and is a great MD. He is knowledgeable about fitness and has even participated in CrossFit. I would highly recommend his services. You can check out more info about his practice at www.ivyurgentcare.com. Thanks doc!
